Large axis excellent condition. $230 tyd f and f only. Or I'd trade for XL in the same.

They run small. I'm not sure where KUIU gets their manikins, but they're small replicas. I typically take a medium or large on some other clothes but always XL with KUIU.

I learned that the same way as the OP. Have the axis large, only a light layer fits under it. I’m thin, their sizing is whacked. They call it an “Athletic fit”.

May have interest and would like to see if the so called "whacked" sizing is ture. What's the chest measurement--distance pit to pit?

Slightly tapered but you're looking right at 46"

Nothing "whacked" about that. Pretty normal for a Large jacket. I'm going to check in with my purse string attendant.

I think there's been some size creep in the last few decades and people have come to expect more room in a large. I recently had to unexpected grab some sweats for Walmart and I had to size down to a small which is crazy--I'm a 32"x 34" pant and usually a medium to large depending on length. Speaking of size creep, I also recently bought a Sitka heavyweight hoody in a large and while the chest was great, the midsection was out of control with no taper whatsoever--I measured it at 46". Nothing like an extra foot of slack in the waist! It is so drafty when I put it on, I have to tuck it in.

I don’t feel like it’s the chest size that bothers me in this jacket. It’s the sleeves. They seem right for an outer layer. I’m in the same boat as OP. It’s great with a single base layer but getting a puffy under it is tough.
