Definitely too warm. I love the 97 zip t but I use it as a mid layer. It has almost as much warmth as a Sitka heavyweight zip t but more breathable. You can get away with wearing it in warmer temps than the Sitka heavyweight, but I’d say if you’re hiking you’ll want to take it off when it gets into the 60’s. You might be able to wear it in the 70’s if you’re just sitting.

Get the 145 merino hoodie - awesome piece!

I like the hoodie because it keeps the sun off my neck and ears.

Merino wicks the moisture away when it’s that hot and it’s super light to wear.

Way too warm, in that situation I'm in a merino short sleeve at most. 90% of the time on my last two elk hunts I've worn a merino short sleeve under a Peloton 97 when moving, from -15* to 50*. If moving in temps above that the Peloton 97 comes off depending on the wind.

About the same here. Merino for base with Peloton 97 Hoodie in the pack to layer for early/late in the day and or glassing. If temps get colder I still stick with the light merino base and up the layers I use over.
