Anyone compared the Kuiu Ultra vs Pro LT bags? Wondering if the Pro LT is worth upgrading to.

Can't help ya much here, but I'm really wanting to try the LT5500. I have the 4000 ultra now and really like it. I just want a bigger bag and a lid.

I’ve got each and I’m impressed with the new LT design. Side entry zip in outer front pocket makes it easier to get into. Bottom and full back material has changed to a waterproof and much more durable material which I’ve found keeps the bottom more dry/clean.
If it’s a choice between the two, I’d be going with the new LT model.

What's the spotting scope pocket like on the Lt5500? I haven't seen a great picture on that.
Fully unzipped the opening is 17". The pocket is approximately 9.5" wide and 22" long although it tapers toward the bottom. I can fit my 15-45x65mm Viper and tripod in it together with room to spare.

I have a pro 1850. Ultra 7000. And LT 4000. Agree the LT is pretty sweet. They can compress down nicely. I’ve used my 4000 on a handful of day hunts with min gear and worked great. Like the features in LT over the ultra bag. Worth the small weight penalty.

I picked up a Stalker and mounted it in the same location as the built in bladder sleeve. The extra pockets will be handy for spare buckles, kill kit, etc which are items I don't need quick access to. Keeping a bladder in the lid is too top heavy for me.

If possible could you show pics?

I'm not familiar with the ultra but the lid on the LT connects with the same duraflex buckles that are used on the rest of the pack. There is also a K-clip style "hinge" on the front that connects directly to the bag that can be disconnected.

They have these side release on the lid and basically every where else. Gatekeepers are just on the back panel, for the bladder pouch, and the 2? extra straps that came with.

Edit: They might have those as a semi permanent connection point on the front of the lid. I'm not using a Kuiu frame so I removed a bunch of hardware already to convert it.

I have a Kuiu ultra 7000 on a pro frame, and have used it twice in the field, once loaded to about 65 lbs for a 3 day shooting competition, and the other on an unsuccessful hunt. The material allows for it to be cinched down to a smaller size. Has worked great for me so far.
