Does anyone have a source for kydex (or other light weight material) sheaths for Buck fixed blades? I'm specifically looking for an alternative for the heavy leather sheaths for my 102 Woodsman and 103 skinner. Also interested in knowing how difficult it would be to make these with a DIY kit if you have experience with this.

I would say Armatus, but I don’t see Bucks listed on their website. You might call them and see what they can do for you.

I’ve done a couple of Kydex sheaths. They aren’t that tough. You need a toaster oven to heat the kydex, a press of some sort, which can just be some foam and books. I built one out of some scrap plywood, a square of foam flooring (the jigsaw pattern stuff from harbor freight) and a clamp. You can buy all the rivets, clips, etc. On Amazon or eBay.

A drill and sander can help you make them look pretty good. I made this one for a fillet knife so it wouldn’t poke through my pack.

There is a guy on ebay who makes them and has a website.

Lots and lots of models priced reasonable.
