Just returned home from Larto Lake in Louisiana. Wow what a fishing trip. We were fishing for crappie. The weather was terrible but we made the best of it. When we left yesterday it was 77 degrees.
We fished for three days and returned home with about 30 pounds of filets. Louisiana daily limit is 50 crappie per man per day. We were not even close to our limit however the fish we caught were really good size. I caught a couple that was over 17” and we had many that were in the 16” range.
My cousin who is a Crawfisherman brought up 100 pounds of crawfish. We had a great feast. We also ate catfish sauce piquant and fried crappie.
Beautiful lake with great people. We had a fantastic trip and can’t wait to return.
