Late season muley tips

Hi everyone. I was out in South Dakota late in October and did not end up killing a deer while out there. My wife graciously suggested that I head back out there from Wisconsin for a few day hunt in December. I will be up in the north west corner of the state, close to Montana. I am very new to western hunting and was wondering if anyone has any late season tips or tactics for me? The area I will be in has lots of open landscape and then small pockets of mountainous/hilly timber.

Thanks in advance
Brant

Dress warm and bring your binocs. Maybe still hunt pockets of timber, but you'll probably be better off glassing. If it's cold, they'll be up periodically all day to warm up a little.

Pretty straightforward, glass, glass, and glass. Don't overlook tall grass and draws with no cover. They'll bed where they want.

Hey guys thanks for the tips. That sounds like basically what I was planning to do so it’s great to get some confirmation of that.
