I currently run a baselayer or 2 with a Sitka jetstream jacket "Large" depending on the time of year. Most of my hunting is later in the season, so I was planning on getting the chugach to just go over the top. Would the XL be a little to big?

Yeah I would go large Chugach. I used an XL Jetstream for a few years and could put my L chugach over it.

I am curious what your intended use is though. Conditions and application.

If I was running a rain jacket I would drop the soft shell. That being said I run a soft shell most of the time here in the Midwest. So depends on your application of use.

Yea I was planning on mixing and matching a few different pieces with the chugach. I was hoping it would would pair with the jetstream well because its one of my favorite jackets. I will have to find out. Unfortunately the jetstream doesn't need much moisture to soak through.

If you are looking to protect the jetstream then consider an axis and replace the Jetstream. It does about everything the Jetstream does well and doesn’t have the downfalls or sacrifices of the Jetstream.
