I’ve been working on trying to find the best scope for my new Seekins ph3 in 6.5 prc. My price range is around 1k for optic. So far I’m looking at the Leica 3-18 x 44(found a deal for $999), Trijicon Credo 2.5-15, Burris veracity PH 4-20 x 50. If anyone has any input I’d love to hear. I mainly want to hear more about the Leica I really can’t find anything bad about this scope online and I’m leaning towards it.

I have the Leica and have very little bad to say about it. Tracking is right on. Glass is great. I wish the eye relief were a touch longer.

Also any opinions on the Bushnell LRHs 4.5-18 would be appreciated as well

I'd stay away from the Burris, stick with the other two.

Trijicon or Leica. The Leica is a really nice scope that gets high marks by almost everyone that uses it. Thete was a guy on here who did his own drop tests on one, and it didn't fair so well. I dont weight the drop tests at 99% of my decision like some on here, but it is certainly a factor. Somehow, I have managed to kill critters for 30+ years with scooes that fail the drop tests miserably. Probably luck and never owning a Vortex 😆.

This makes me feel better. I just can’t find a ten mile under $1300 anywhere, but I’ve got a good deal on the Leica. Just worried it’s gonna break on me.

Do a search on here. There was a guy who drop tested his amplus. I'll see if i can find it for you. The optics in them are fantastic by most all accounts.

I found a guy that field tested it and apparently rolled down a cliff face with it and even with dents in the turrets it was only off zero by 0.4 of an inch. I don’t plan on beating it up and I don’t have the opportunity to go backpack and hunt often so I’m not as worried about durability. Plus the warranty on them seems good.

This is a tough site for scopes if you dont pick Swfa, nightforce, trijicon or 1 model of Maven. Most on here put a lot of stock into the drop tests. Different strokes, different folks tho. I will say tho, it is a thread that is worth looking at and you can develop your own opinion.

The lrhs2 has incredibly good glass if you ask me.
Reticle good to go.
Reports on durability are positive.
For used prices they are a great optic, albeit heavier and some don't like a minimum of 4.5x

I've got the trijicon 2.5-15. Also have the 4-16. Both are great scopes. Only con ive found with them is the 8 mil per rev turret. But I only use that target shooting anyways so it doesn't matter. Can't go wrong with the credo's if your fine with SFP.

The Bushnell is a very good scope. They show up on the classifieds at about $800.

All of the scope recommendation threads lead to the same suggestions.

Nobody plans of having their stuff not work correctly.

I’m the guy that droptested the Amplus. It’s no longer on the rifle, I pulled it for a 3-18 Tenmile. Aside from reliability concerns (it was on a hard use 6mm ARC AR), I’ve really come to dislike that it’s SFP, especially with such a complex reticle.

The Amplus is a nice scope, I’ll probably end up putting it back on a safequeen Mauser that won’t see more than shooting whitetails from a blind. I have another one a 7 Rem Mag Defiance that I’d like to do a bit more zero retention testing to track how it’s handling the washboard road back and forth to the range.

From what I’ve seen, $999 isn’t anything crazy good deal for the Leica. I bought most of mine on clearance in the $800-900 range.

If it were me, I’d set aside a little more and get a Maven. If you really don’t want to spend more than $1k, wait for a used Maven to come up on here. The 3-18X Tenmile is a great scope, but it’s been a long time since they went on sale in the $1-1.2k range, and the Maven already exists at that price with great glass and an awesome reticle.
