10LB dual speed or 15lb single speed from LEM

I would like to purchase a larger one but the only place that sells them in Calgary only has the 20lb electric and I am not swinging that price.

I figure I will be putting up 100ish pounds of sausage a year.

Thoughts?

anyone from that Calgary area that has suggestions on where I can buy a good stuffer let me know

Cheers

Get the biggest one you can afford if you plan on doing more in the future.
The 15 will be fine for 100lbs. Cant you order a LEM online up there? I ordered my stuffer and grinder both online. That way you can order what you want. or is shipping an issue. Maybe the place that carries them can do a special order from LEM.

I have the 15lb lem and love it. Last year I did have one of the bushing wear through (8-10 years and countless pounds of meat later) and we borrowed a two speed I think 10 lb from a friend and the extra gear for cranking back up from an empty cylinder was nice however pumping 1lb tubes of elk meat the 15 lb cylinder is a larger benefit in my opinion.

Search youtube for the Kirby canon. Its a water powered stuffer made out of pressure rated PVC. I have ~$120 in my 6in version. It hold about 18lbs, has a foot controlled solenoid valve to operate it, and four different horn sizes for Snack sticks through summer Sausage casing. Quite simple and easy to use. Just an idea.

I almost got the LEM and then after reading a lot of online stuff went with this Hakka:
https://www.amazon.com/Sausage-Stuffer-Stainless-Vertical-HAKKA/dp/B011RN5QN4?ref_=ast_bbp_dp

The also make a 15lb one for $166

FWIW I haven't had time to use mine yet but it appears hell for stout. Also, interesting, make sure you see LEM's site on Amazon, as most of the stuffer's from LEM through Amazon are significantly cheaper that through the LEM website or catalog. Oddly the grinders are generally more expensive on Amazon than their website. Go figure?
