Nice EB! What are the details on that rig? I have a 72’.

That’s a ‘68 with a 302. Other than cut fenders, stock. Possibly the best 4x4 I’ve owned, and like a dumbass, I sold it. Needed a lot of rust repair done but was a tank. It took chains on the front to get out of there, and it was mostly downhill. We got hit with 14” of snow on that trip and nobody else came up that road. The only other guy we saw drive up was in an old willys Jeep , and he bailed when the snow started flying. And he broke his Jeep getting out, abandoned it in the middle of the trail with a note saying he’d be back for it in July. Lol.

We got to where his Jeep was, and the snowmelt had turned the road into white knuckle crawling . Tried to go uphill around him but kept sliding, couldn’t go downhill, never would have gotten back up in the mud.

had to use the come along to winch him sideways so we could pass. He bailed so quick he stopped by our camp and let us know he was leaving his tent and supplies where they were, he was afraid of getting stuck up there. Also said help ourselves to the supplies. All we took was a jug of cheap whiskey and were glad to have that. 10 day trip was one of the best hunts ever. I got a rag horn bull and a nice 26” Mulie.

To be fair, this thing beats the old bronco, mostly.

Great story, I have a 66 bronco, and have had a 69,73, and 70. Awesome off road vehicles.
