I took care of the little critter tearing up the dirt around my garage... had to use some Kentucky windage with the ol beat up bow, but it got the job done.

Great photos and animals, everyone! As far as I'm concerned, every animal taken with traditional tackle is a trophy and something to be supremely proud of. I've recently been bitten by the traditional bug thanks to a close friend and it's been the most rewarding journey I've taken in my hunting career. I was fortunate enough to take this PA whitetail on public land last fall and it was without a doubt the highlight of my (hunting) life. Such a connection I've never experienced in any other way while hunting. Anyway, all the touchy-feely stuff aside, I was stoked. Very much considering hanging up the compound and hunting traditional full time. 20180929_075936.jpg

Had a few shots this week. If they aren’t in the garden they are burrowing around the house.........

Hey Caleb, congrats on the Velvet.
Thinkin of heading up to Cohutta for Bear in Oct.
FLAK.
I’m going to spend most of oct up there as well. I have a giant 8 I’m after on my place in gilmer. Hopefully seal the deal early then off for some bears.
Send me a message when you go. I’ll send you coordinates to my camp site. There is plenty of room

So was down at my local archery shop couple weeks ago and the owner tells me I won’t believe what he found? Going through his old albums he found an old picture of my first buck with my recurve from 2005. This was my first archery buck and was killed with an old Bear recurve from the 60s. This was a California buck when I was 14.
