My first buck Antelope (shot in South Dakota) and did it with my four year by my side. His reaction when I shot it was the highlight of the trip!

The Kifaru not only handled the goat well but is also great at hauling kids too

My Dad and I made our first trip out west. Tagged out opening morning in Eastern Wyoming with our first antelope. Spotted my buck at a mile and made a stalk to him bedded at 35yds. Definitely going to make another trip and hoping to combo it with mule deer.

Got out to a unit in WY that took zero PPs to draw for my first speed goat gig. Figured that would be a good environment to allow for lots of learning. Was just happy to fill my tag, and actually super stoked about the character on this guy with his broken left tip and uniquely shaped cutters. Also, who was it that said Antelope are gamey? They were wrong.

I agree that the antelope meat has little game flavor or at least that which Ive eaten.

I feel like the strong musky odor they have and their crazy scent glands are a warning sign saying "Be very careful not to contaminate the meat with this after touching the hide." Did some flank steaks as a dry-rubbed Carne Asada last night and it was terrific.

First antelope. Found a good size group of antelope on a section of state land. When I finally got to them at 11 AM there were only 4 (2 bucks and 2 does) on the public land side and the rest were on posted land. It took a little belly crawling, but worked out nice.IMG_20191016_114004442_HDR.jpgIMG_20191016_113703794_HDR.jpgIMG_20191016_114804731_HDR.jpgIMG_20191016_114203256_HDR.jpg

My sons first big game hunt. He had a choice between this buck (which somebody wounded) and a really nice buck that was with it. He made the choice to shoot the wounded one. Couldn’t be more proud of him!!!

You should be proud. That kind of decision making is what separates the boys from the men.
