Two questions:
1. Stock painting tips? I've mucked it up at least twice. Now I have a very scuffed/roughed factory stock.
2. Limbsavers - better shooting or just more comfortable?

Not trying to be a dick. But your action does not appear to be seated correctly on the lug.

1. I don’t rough up my stocks before painting them. The key is to get everything degreased and clean. Then I just start painting. This process has worked well on the handful of stocks I’ve painted.

2. Both. But the better shooting comes from the fact that the limbsaver makes it more comfortable to shoot. Well worth the little bit of money in my opinion.

Has anybody seen a Sterk Titanium bolt handle/ carbon fiber knob in stock? They’re shut down at the US plant due to Covid.

Sterk has a US plant? I thought it was just a guy in Australia.

I’ve got two bolt handles on the way soon for a CTR and a T1X that I’m excited about

Yikes I’m looking for a Lumley, not a Sterk. Dang I hate getting mixed up.

Boltknobs.com
Tacticalworks.com

Bolt Knobs is an importer for Lumley. I got my CF/Ti handle from Tactical Works, it came in a tube from Bolt Knobs. No idea who actually made the thing but it fit great with some very minor fitting.

Slowelk.
Shot mine on a McMillan A-5 before the axial.
Big big difference in accuracy and recoil with the axial.
Its a sweet stock.

@fatbacks @Elkhunter777 - how are you guys liking the Axial precision? Did you shoot your setup before you had the stock? Any accuracy improvements or reduced recoil?

I had mine in a McMillan game hunter prior. Accuracy was good in both stocks. The axial is lighter but reduces recoil. Between muzzle brakes n more brake and the stock I am able to spot impacts at 300-500 yds highly recommend the axial. You do have to some bedding work on the axial

Bare rifles are nice and light with the McMillan stocks and fluted barrels.

Axial Precision users: What pillars did you install?

I’m waiting for my Carbon Six barrel to arrive and install...
