Leupold 1600i TBR/W Not reading flat black objects

Picked this up to try, was working great until I tried to range flat black archery blick target and a hdpe pipe I use for an arrow holder. Wont read them at all.
Have it in bow setting and Med. Brightness.
Anyone else have this issue?

No issue with my Leupold RX1600i ranging black targets. Works reliably. I would contact Leupold.

A couple of friends had trouble with their Nikon Archery Rangefinders not ranging black bears. One replaced his with the Leupold RX1600i and the other with a Sig to avoid the issue.
