Leupold rang finder took a crap

My Rx 1000i tbr took a crap after 5 plus years of use. It no longer would do angle of shot. I called customer service and they offered me a new one (1300i) at a good discounted price. But...once I get the new one I have to destroy the old one in any manner I chose that shows the serial number. Just an fyi for others who have one that have an issue with theirs. Can't wait to use my imagination on how to destroy the old one.

How did you figure out it wasn't working correctly? Did it do it every time or intermittently? Mine may be doing the same thing.
