Lid replace

I just blew the zipper on my exo 3500 lid (1st gen) for the second time. I’m considering unstitching the lid from the pack and replacing it with a removable lid. I’m curious if anyone has experience doing this and if there are lids that would be easier to attach than others?

The first Gen lids did not have a burly enough zipper. The beefed those up with the k2 designs and forward. I have a Gen 1 lid I still use sometimes (“vintage” ASAT) and I had the zipper replaced with the next size up as it was always splitting in the field. Never had an issue with the K2 zipper.
