I carry a windproof butane, and a Zippo, as well as half a dozen small boxes of waterproof matches in various kits and pockets throughout my gear and clothes. I always carry several 35mm film canisters or prescription pill bottles stuffed with dryer lint soaked in patroleum jelly. I carry a small block of magnesium and a flint for last resort backup. I've been in the single digits in the high country when my only source of fire stopped working....never again.
