x2 WW, hate the book answer but we sure are powerless to do much else. Although I don't put a pole in the air and test my conduciveness as 3d suggests, I do take comfort with the idea of "if it's my time to go..." Then I just do as Jbird does.

a3d must have missed the part on what not to do :)

I struggle with defiance issues....
If it is my time to go, I want to go screaming in challenge, not huddled in a crouch on the balls of my feet wondering how far my head can get between my knees to make a smaller "target" for lightning to hit. ;)

I'm not going to be sitting still waiting to be hit, I'll be moving my butt downhill and fast!
If you wait until lightening is striking all around you, then you already waited too long IMO.
