Good morning gents!! I’m looking for a lightweight scope to go on my whitetail rifle. Been looking at the Leupold Vx5 hd , Swarovski Z3 , and the Trijicon Accupoint. Can any shed some light on these with experience?? Thanks! Oh , shots will be 400 yards and under.

I just picked up a 5hd with cds (3-15×44). It is not light compared to the 3-9×40 vx2 it replaced...19oz vs 12 oz I think the specs were. You may be better off with one of their 1" tube varieties if weight matters more. I don't have experience with the other 2.

I like the Swaro. I went through a similar decision with the Z5 vs the VX6 and went with the Z5. They deliver a lot for the weight and at your ranges, the 1" tube will not be a hindrance.

Agree with what’s already been said about the Z3, excellent glass and LW. If you’re looking to go even lighter and still not give up a ton on quality, I don’t think you’ll find anything lighter than a Leupold VX-II UL at 9 oz. That is of course, if you’re lucky enough to find one.
