There stuff seams to be good overall. I am sure it is like anything else, Minus 33, Ibex etc... Curious how it compares to them and First Lite. I think Kuiu's Merino is okay. They come in nice weights but pill and seem to tear more easily than FL. FL is good stuff.

Ended up being my 'go to' baselayer for a wilderness trek in B.C. I had two other choices. The LLBean merino exceeded my expectations for durability and comfort.

Unabashed LL Bean fan and customer here. I have not owned the merino from LLB yet, but would be confident buying from them. Nobody has a better satisfaction policy than LLB and they have treated me wonderfully over the years (far better than Cabela's, Bass Pro, etc). I like KUIU merino but it does wear quickly so I tend to save it for more important hunts. I don't care for the short-leg zip-off bottoms by KUIU, so my next merino bottoms will likely be LLB.

How is the fit? Their clothing is generally not what you would call an "active" cut.
