Hey folks, my dad just picked up a Remington 660 in 6.5 Remington mag for my daughter. It came with 6 boxes of brass and two boxes of 130 grain bergers. Dad has two manuals from the late 60's that list data for this round, but it's clearly dated at this point.

Wondering if anyone here has experience/data that you'd be willing to share?

This is a sweet little rifle, years ahead of its time in my opinion. Mag length is definetly gonna limit the bergers I'm afraid, though. Cheers and thanks in advance....Mike

Nosler's online manual has load data with modern powders.

Looks pretty straightforward....IMR4831 and 130gr bullets would be the magic combo for me.

Yeah, that's the data we used to work up a few test loads. Just thought someone may have a pet load. I'll have to run down some 4831. We don't have any st the moment.

I have 2 model 660's and have used H4350 and 4831 with the best results using 4350. Recently been trying some loads using RL17 and Nosler 120 gr ballistic tip bullets. Using 54 gr of RL17 its right at 3100 fps but I wasn't real happy with the accuracy, need to play with the AOL to see if it will shrink the groups. I did get 1.25" groups at 100 yds but H4350 will do half inch groups. I'm going to try some 125 gr nosler partition bullets next. I did try 54.5 gr of RL17 and only gained 10 fps with about the same accuracy but was starting to show pressure signs with flat primers.
