I just had a fast twist barrel put on my 223 because I wanted to use heavier bullets for hunting and long range target shooting
An IBI barrel chambered by a local Smith with a good reputation came up for sale for a really reasonable price so I grabbed it
Formadillo on here mentioned a load here of 23.7 of 8208 being a good all rounder with the 77 TMK and as I have a heap of them because that is my go to in 22/250 I loaded 10 to give them a run
Process
Bore sight
Fire one shot; up.3, right.7
Fire 3 shots at 100

Up .1, right.1
Attach the magnetospeed fire one, 2815 FPS
mmm would like a bit more speed, will go up .2 gn next time as bolt lift is fine and case heads look good
Move to my steel target at 470 yards, put the numbers into JBM and come up 2.7 and fire 5

5 into about 3 and a half inches
Pretty tidy
Right .2
True velocity for .1less drop on JBM
Forget about tweaking the load for a few more fps
Go and load a bucket of bullets
Job done

Gear that is solid and simple and stick to the basics
Scope that works, action properly bedded, barrel floated with enough clearance to drag a cat through B0CAD8A7-D4D9-4B91-B7D6-BD94CB93AC53.jpeg
