Load hauling questions for EXO...

Hi guys,

Recently picked up a new EXO 4800. Upon exploration I found a tag on the frame that states:

“DO NOT re-attach bag lip with load between bag and frame”.


While I understand the statement, I want to know WHY? It seems like you would want to pull the load tight to the load lifters.

For most loads it not even possible. If you had a puffy jacket in there it might be possible but when having a load in between the bag and frame the heavy part will generally be up against the frame and the little bit of weight in the bag shouldn’t make much of a difference being a few inches away from the frame and your back.

Thanks Smash. When referring to the puffy do you mean an extremely compressible day load while packing out? I’m just trying to get the most out of this pack but I can’t find anything regarding this on their site.

Ya that’s what I mean. I leave my pack off the top of my frame during whitetail almost all season just because I have a k2 and it isn’t as easy to re attach. No issues with anything I have put there.
