Hey gang,
I picked up a cva optima this year and wonder if it's necessary to use jag when loading (more concerned w a timely reload) the bullet.
Will any denting from the end of the ramrod affect the bullet performance?
Because the optima ramrod won't fit under the barrel with jag installed, I'm mainly concerned with fumbling the bits in the field if I need to attach a jag for reload.

A jag is for cleaning, not for seating the bullet. I would just use the ramrod. If a jag was needed to properly load the rifle the mfg would have included it on the ramrod.

I had an optima a few years ago. Shot barnes out of it. They came with a loading jag and like you said, it wouldn’t fit. I put the jag in a drill and ran it over a file until it would fit. I did not do this on the extension that comes with the optima.
