Locus Map app for Android

I've been using this all over the world and can definitely recommend it. You can download very specific regions and make them available offline. Different maps can serve different purposes, for example the are maps with all logging roads in Canada or hiking trails in European countries. It has a ton of features basically turning my smartphone into a nice GPS handheld.
