Do you prefer long hair or fair weather for goat hunting?

Long hair all the way. My mount is almost done and I am so glad I waited. Yes, the hikes and everything else about the hunt was twice as hard...but the hide on my goat was spectacular!

That's a tough one for me. Funny, my well known taxidermist thinks the goats with real long hair don't look as good as a mid to late Sept CO goat.

I've shot two in September, they look fine. I used to put in for those late tags, but I bowhunt, and just prefer earlier. Much nicer taking an afternoon nap in the sun vs freezing!

Long Hair....same reason I went to New Zealand during their winter for Tahr.

Having just completed my DIY mid September billy here in CO... Had so much fun... I'd take either! I guess if presented the option I'd go with the hair having already been luck enough to take a fair weather goat.
