I’ve never really looked at the moon with my spotter before, last night my daughter and I decided to take a look. I have a Kowa 773 and the extender. It was breezy so focusing wasn’t the best.

96x and phone zoom unknown, super sensitive and really hard to focus.

And just the phone, lol.

It is awesome to use the spotter to look at the moon. My brother and I were checking it out in Northern BC where there's zero light pollution, it was incredible. He has now become a major astronomy nerd and has a telescope, he also used it to justify buying the Swaro 115. Guy always knows where the different planets, etc are. He took some photos of Saturn's moons with the Swaro that were better then from the telescope. Pretty cool stuff, but I still prefer looking at our moon with just the spotter.

Compare it to your other optics.

It’s a real eye opener to show the importance of clarity over magnification.

Awesome photos! Next, check out the Jovian Moons (moons of Jupiter). Get a cheap astronomy app to help locate stuff (I'm using StarWalk2 right now).

she might be impressed showing her the ring around Saturn or the cloud belts on Jupiter

other cool astronomy targets area

orion Nebula
pleiades
andromeda galaxy (it’s 6x the size of the moon)
Milky Way in the constellation of Cygnus (use binoculars instead of scope)

I hardly use this spotter for hunting, I have a 553 for hunting. I use this for hiking, scouting the range etc. I’ve used the extender a ton at the range.
I have the 773 and looked up the adapter. Out of stock but noticed that they have some astro adapters. Need another eyepiece with it but interesting

I think it’s a worth while accessory to have with either a 77 or 88 series, pretty neat having 96x at times. I want to say it makes the eyepiece 48-96x.

It is tiny and weighs nothing so one could easily just leave it on, adds about an inch or so to the eyepiece length.

What phone were you using and what type of phone adapter, if any? The pictures are very cool.
