Looking for opinion on optics for my hunting rifle

There are some solid recommendations in the above posts. Regarding magnification to shoot at 1000 yards, I find myself using around 15 to 18x most of the time. Sometimes it's nice to have more when you are identifying targets, or reading wind, but I usually don't shoot at higher mag ranges.
