I have a pair of Lowa Baffin Pro II leather lined boots. I wore these for about 2 minutes out in the yard making sure they fit, otherwise brand new with box.
They are a great boot I just won't be needing the second pair and trying to free up funds for other things I also don't need!

Great boots, I use them for wildland firefighting and they also are great for hunting.

The Baffins are not waterproof, correct?

They aren't goretex if that's what you're asking. I sealed my other pair and never got wet. I've gotten wet plenty times with goretex boots. The leather lined non goretex seem to breathe better in my opinion.

Does the liner liner wear out in the heel? That’s my only concern for boots like this with thinner leather based on previous pairs.

I have not had it wear out. My experience is limited to the pair I've got that fits me very well.

I have two pair of Lowa leather lined boots and love them, never had a problem with the leather wearing out. If they were size 12 I would be buying them! Great boot that retails for $395.
