I saw on Instagram you were starting over from the ground up on your rifle. You got to tell us more. When you get time.

Holly smokes $5900 smakers????
Sharpen that pencil and learn alot.
🤯 No joke. But get this, a guy has three sheep hunts booked in the next three years. He wants to be dialed and prepped so that he knows his rifle and the limits of his rifle. I couldn’t do it, but I get where he’s coming from.

So we stripped the scopes off. Re verified that every bolt on the rifle was properly torqued. Re leveled the scopes and torqued to proper ft-lbs.
When they run a class, it would ruin your day if something simple had been over looked. It’s insurance that everyone gets the most from the training. Also, It is waaay faster leveling with the right tools. 🤦🏻‍♂️

We went to the zero range. Re-zeroed the rifles. Shot prone with Spartan Bipods. Shot sitting with Spartan Tripod (with one leg removed). Took a quick break for an observation drill. Then got back behind the rifles and made the metal ring!

I struggled more than I expected setting my zero. No real idea why. Lots of excuses, but got it done.
Things fell in line after that. Smacked metal at varying ranges from 200 to 580. 7 shots. All hits. No misses. (Prob got lucky)
Handed my rifle to a buddy and he put 3 hits on the 580.
High angle course tomorrow 🤜🏻💥🤛🏼

This morning’s class was a “high angle” course emphasizing wind call outs.
The “Big” shot was a steel ibex at a little over 1000 yds at a 30 degree up angle. Straight line was about 1010-1015 depending on where you set up.
I had a very good spotter. 6 hits out of 7 shots. The miss was all Mee 100%. Very interesting to see how the Spartan system can be pieced together to build a solid shooting position.

Great shooting. I think I know that Ibex, I went 3 for 3 with a 6.5 creed. But I used the stability that mother nature provided.

Nice work. Isn’t it gratifying? I love it. I probably would have shot dirt every time if I didn’t have someone calling wind that knew what they were doing.
Strong work Broz 🤜🏻💥🤛🏼

This evening was pretty windy but we managed. Not a lot of photos. My shooting app is on my phone and the phone was getting hot 🥵 and the battery wasn’t lasting.

Broz, how did you like using that Magpul bipod on that Havak? I've been thinking about getting one for my wifes Tikka. It's set up pretty light so I thought this may fit the bill, but I hear about instability with these. What is your opinion?

I wasn't nutz about it. I struggled a bit with this one and the Atlas's at this event. There was a lot of movement going on. I prefer a bipod with a real pod lock that I can tighten down solid easily. I would not recommend either of these for larger rifles with real recoil. However with a solid grip I was able to spot my hits even from a less desirable shooting position. I believe being solid on target is very important. I haven't found a bipod yet that will even come close to the stability of the Modular Evolution. But I suppose there are lighter offerings, if weight is that high on the list, and we are willing to sacrifice stability for a few ounces.
