Got this colt last fall. Got him broke to ride and have been getting him ready for some packing this year. We’ve been taking him up into some rough country and he is showing all the signs of making a really good horse! He’ll stand hobbled all day now and has never acted up while packing stuff. Going to load him up tomorrow and take him up into the wilderness.64783069-0D39-46DF-ABD8-EE3147C2846A.jpegA814452A-8A83-4C17-93FE-A938DBEF466E.jpeg42E79618-C735-4746-979C-2F1C8C3D998F.jpeg

He went up to that cow like he’d done it 100 times and never blinked...I believe he’s going to be a good one.

Loaded him up with 80 lbs of salt and took him up through some canyons, over a couple creeks and finally got to the top of the wilderness about 9000’ Only problem we had with him was getting him to cross over a big Ponderosa pine tree that fell across the trail. There was a steep, steep drop off on one side and a steep high canyon bank on the other side but he got around it without too much trouble. He dang sure could have raised cane but he proved himself again !!C4AA2AD7-7F4F-4152-85C1-982C70689EBA.jpegCBAEDC22-EDC0-4FB0-9019-D4975F7B2239.jpeg

I bet this young colt wishes I’d just leave him alone so he could just mind his own business and graze but he needed a new set of shoes. He did really good today for only being the second time he’s ever been shod.476B8264-7223-4B5F-B646-E33ABE10BBFA.jpeg09D722C1-EB25-4C78-8835-11E206672616.jpegC29F9198-C6B1-4BC3-A554-CBE6CB21C4D0.jpeg
