I’ve got a collapsible Meopta TGA 30x75 that I really like. Those 18x56 Mavens have me intrigued. For those that have them, would they replace a lightweight spotting scope?

We have both the 18x B5 and an Opticron MM4 60MM.
@KickinNDishin prefers the B5, I prefer the spotter for a short detailed look at something.

Long term glassing like animals in the sage, the B5 wins over the spotter for sure.

Have you ever compared that scope to a Nikon ED50? If so, what are your thoughts? Thanks!

I have not compared the TGA to a Maven 18x but I have the Meopta TGA 75 with the 20-60 eyepiece and have compared it to the Meostar 15x56 HD Plus. The TGA scope will show detail that no 15x or 18x bino can. But they do not replace the 15x binos for glassing large areas. Since you have a 30x wide angle eyepiece it might level it out more since many people can see more detail with both eyes at 15x that one eye at 30x.
