MDT HNT26 Left Handed Tikka Group Buy

I would buy a HNT26 chassis for my LH Tikka

I posed the question MDT: "How many are needed for a group buy to get some left handed tikka inlets?". Their response is 50.

This may be a long shot, so I am just taking a poll to gauge interest. It should be known that their chassis system is action length specific, unlike factory Tikkas.

I think you explained it in your last sentence but I’m still confused as to why the poll asks what action length. Would it matter to MDT if some people are shooting long action cartridges and others are shooting short action cartridges? For a Tikka isn’t the cartridge irrelevant for a chassis? The only thing I can think that would change is the magazine.

Their chassis’ magazine well is sized specifically for short or long AICS mags. Their product page has some more explanation on it.

And if anyone is wondering, their 2.95” AICS mags for 6.5 PRC and 300 wsm fit their short action.

Bump back to the first page. If interest is low after a week I’ll let this slip into the abyss.

Would there be a price break if we did a group buy? Just curious as it may help people commit.

I just spoke with Greg in retail sales, and he said there likely wouldn't be a reduced price as there would be custom tooling costs.

Man, I wish I was ready to jump on this train right now, but I won’t be for another 1-3 years probably.

Hope you guys are able to get an order in and get some lefty chassis in the market!

I’m still not seeing a LH T3x option for the HNT26 on MDT’s site. I’ll be putting together a NRL build this winter, and would prefer to use the Tikka action, with an ARCA fore end HNT26.

I could be mistaken, but isn’t Steve shooting a Tikka in a HNT26 in this video? Perhaps he had it modified?

Thanks for your initiative on this, @AkMtnRunner .

99% sure It is a left handed Tikka. I see lefty 700 hnt26s available but no tikka still. Bizarre for them to make a one off

I messaged them on their website about if a left hand tikka hnt26 chassis was in the works since obviously Steven Rinella is using one. I got a reply back that the plans are for it to be available late 2025
That’s good news. But I wish they’d push that timeline up a bit. I’m putting together a NRL build for a match this summer and would rather base it on a Tikka than M700.
