I guess I didn't do enough research but I needed some 1" rings to mount my new Credo 3x9 on my model 70 30-06. It has Warne 2pc pic rail bases. There aren't too many good options for 1" bases so I decided to try MDT rings for the first time since I Hawkins don't come in 1".

Well to my surprise they won't work. I guess the caveat on their description is "NATO spec" rails. I really like their design with the two bolts, I think it's stouter than normal designs, but it's frustrating that they don't highlight that difference. Maybe it will fit a LPVO on my 300blk AR so all is not lost.

Anyway, anything better than the mountain tech warne rings for 1" options? Looks like im back to the drawing board. It's pretty vain but I'm not a huge fan of vortex so I didn't want to get their rings even though they're made by Seekins.

Mountain Tech is absolutely good to go. I beat the piss out of a pair of their 34 mm rings for years on my rifle all over the west with a heavy ATACR and never once had a problem.

It sounds like you have Weaver style bases from Warne and 1913 rings from MDT.

You're not the first to have that problem but you do need to pay attention to the different designs.

Have you considered replacing the Warne bases for 1913? I have used Burris but I don't know if they make them for the 70. I think Talley does.

I have also used a bunch of Warne bases. Either with Weaver style rings or by enlarging the slot to fit the larger 1913 lug. Know anybody with a milling machine?!

Can you return the rings?
