It’s weird how they will open up some burns right away , then certain ones they keep people out for a while, I understand the rehab of the roads and trails might take a while but just wonder what differentiates one burn from another
Do you guys think the fire will help the deer herd at all?
Has anyone hunted the burn area prior to the fire? I did for a couple years back in 2006-2007 but never got anything. I was only there a couple weekends though.
Some great reports on the fire if you dig around the cal fire site.
I think it had a lot to do with how hot the fire burns at times. Lots of the Mendo complex burned hot which destroyed root structure on plants delaying re-growth. This increases risk of soil erosion vs a fast lower temp burn that many of the plants and grasses come back from really fast.
Lots of the reports listed fairly large areas of hot burn with major concern about long term soil erosion issues.
