I thought it would be fun to maybe make a list of what we are all mostly using on the more major pieces of gear. Feel free to add more or less then I did.
I'm not a backpacking hunter currently, I walk in and out every day.

Rifle- bergara b14 wilderness hmr 7mag
Scope- vortex viper pst gen ii 5-25 (but looking at nf nx8 2.5-20)
Bullets/rounds- 162 grain eld-x for elk, deer, black bear
Pack- kifaru stryker xl
Bino's- maven b2 11x45
Bino harness- kuiu
Rangefinder- Leupold Rx 2800 tbr
Knife- benchmade altitude
Boots- Irish setter but switching to crispi or kenetrek next I think
Raingear- sitka thunderhead
Base/mid/outer layers- mix of sitka, kuiu, and simms for some base layers
Tripod- just ordered a field optics research that they did custom for me.
Truck- 😂 2012 Chevy Duramax without the cat piss 😂

Spotter- I don't run a spotter usually, shame on me.

There's plenty more I could list but that's about it for the bigger items I can think of while sitting here.

The rest of the gear escapes me without having to dig it out and look at it.

Started late in life and haven’t been at this all that long, but this gear thing sure is killing me. The amount of buying mistakes I’ve made have cost me dearly, but I think I’m getting close (or am I kidding myself?!)

Rifle - Full custom from LRI or a Cooper M52 depending on the occasion
Suppressor - TBAC Ultra-9 most often but I have the whole Ultra lineup so I use them all sporadically. I always seem to come back to the 9 though.
Suppressor Cover - Armageddon Gear
Scope - Nightforce SHV 5-20x56mm
Bullets/rounds- 143gr eld-x
Pack - Stone Glacier X-curve frame with a Solo bag on it
Binos - Swarovski EL 10x50 or Zeiss Victory SF 8x42 depending on the occasion
Bino harness - Outdoor Vision
Rangefinder - Sig Kilo2200
Knife - Silver Stag
Multitool - Leatherman
Boots - Crispi Idaho GTX or Danner Pronghorn depending on the occasion
Raingear - Sitka Dewpoint
Camo - First lite for basically everything
Tripod - Feisol CT-3472 with an RRS Anvil-30 ball head and Vyce mount (may add a 4" arcalock rail to my stock instead of using the Vyce for my main hunting gun)

I'm sure there's other gear I'm forgetting though.

  • Smartwool 250 thermals and socks
  • Under armor boxer jock briefs (bright green so no one shoots my dick off)
  • Salmon Trail Runners
  • Garmin Fenix 5S watch
  • Sikta archery gloves (no idea what model but they are lightweight)
  • Jetboil and Black Rifle Coffee (yeah - I'm one of those guys)
  • 10-year-old Cabelas leafy jacket
  • FHF Bino Harness (they are worth the price)
  • $2 mosquito head net as a face cover
I'd list my bow and binos and such, but I think it's like wine and I'm only drinking the $20 bottles...

Are you seeing a divorce attorney yet? If not, you haven't even started to spend money on gear... The next step is to take a second mortgage out on your house because, well, the new fusion camo pattern is out.
