I have a new to me Model 70 Sporter in 264 Win Mag and was able to take it out for the first time. It had been shot a few times by the previous owner who ended up deciding to pass it on due to its length and weight. It is a shooter, every group I shot with it was less than 1/2 an inch with factory ammo and most were smaller than that.
I did have 4 rounds not go off though... Light primer strikes. It was with different ammo, some reloads and some factory. When I got home, I field stripped the bolt and cleaned it. It was not horrible and definitely not gunky or overly dirty.
Any ideas or things to think about and check?
How can I visually see how far the firing pin sticks out? Apologies if its a dumb question but everything is re-cocked when I pull the bolt so I am not sure.
