Not a full custom gun but I had the gunsmith put a bunch of time into it awhile back to make it much nicer than stock. My goal was to build a really good mountain rifle without breaking the bank which I think I did. I'm a left handed shooter and now that I have the time and the means, I'm switching over to lefty rifles for all my shooting.

All work on this gun was performed by Matt at Sawtooth Rifles while he was still located in Fort Collins, CO. The gun started life as a stainless, synthetic Marlin XS-7 and I had the barrel cut and recrowned to 18" from barrel nut to muzzle with a recessed target crown. Gun has been cerakoted sniper gray. Action was pillar and glass bedded into a charcoal colored Boyd's stock. Factory trigger was tuned and set to 3lbs. Burris scope bases are cerakoted to match the rifle and will stay on it. I'll include a DNZ Game Reaper 1" medium height 1 piece mount as well. Round count uncertain as I bought the donor used. I've put less than 100 down the tube in a mix of my handloads and factory ammo. Good results with SGK 165's and Varget, but I didn't use this rifle all that much so didn't chase a load.

$500 plus shipping $450 Shipped CONUS

Also have 200 Nosler brass unfired as well as a small quantity of Lake City Match once fired brass (approx 50) $125 + shipping
1.5 boxes Sierra GK 180's + 1 mostly full box of 165 GK's + 1 mostly full box of 165 HPBTs $75 + shipping.

Will cut you a break on the price if you want all of it.

I'll put it on a scale tonight and post it here.

Edit: @ramsdude47 I don't have a digital scale that will weight it with any precision. Food scale I use for butchering only reads to 5 lbs. I hung it from a travel scale with 1/2 increments and it reads just over 7.25 lbs. Likely its a 7.25-7.5 lb gun as it sits without scope. Not bad considering Boyd's aren't known to be featherweights and its been glass bedded.

The leupold offered in the listing has a mfr stated weight of 11.4 oz so with rings and that scope you'd be at or under 8.5 I would think.

I'm pretty tempted, how much does it weigh?
I've worked that same Boyd's stock down on another rifle and cut at least 1/2 lb. off the weight. It's not hard to do with hand tools and a drill. Spade bit on the drill to hollow out the stock, and thin out and shorten the forend and you can get the stock under 2 lbs. with some elbow grease. Those are good stocks to work on yourself.

That should be a good shooting gun. XS-7's are sleepers.

Tempting... I’ve had one in 7/08 and .308, both were shooters and I shouldn’t have parted with either one.
