Hey all, just a bit of information for those interested.
Montana FWP is starting work on a new elk management plan. They hope to have it in place by summer of 2023. Mr. Worsech, like him or not is once again asking for input from everyone. Looking for ways to address over crowding, ways to address access to private land among some of the stuff.
Also they are looking at the over 400 private land access agreements already in place.
This is a good time to be engaged and have your voice/ideas heard.
I was pretty skeptical of the governor's appointments to the commission. I find myself mildly optimistic about thier performance.
Please keep in mind there will most likely be some crazy ideas put out there. Gotta start somewhere.
Hopefully all sides can find some common ground, good respectful dialogue, and a bit of compromise. In the end perhaps we will get a plan that benefits us all in some way and protects our resources.
