Im looking for recomendations on a super stable tripod to hold either 15s or a spotter and be able to stand while using it. Weight does not matter and heavier would probably be better in a lot of ways. I have tried the vanguard 263at and like it but if there is something a little cheaper or better I wouldnt mind checking it out.

Tripods are buy once cry once, or at least buy every five years. I'm not familiar with Vanguard but a quick google and it seems that's around a $100 tripod. That is definitely at the cheap end and I wouldn't look for less if you plan on getting a spotting scope. Binos would be fine. Vanguards seem to get good reviews on B&H which I trust more than Amazon or google reviews.

Check out Adorama and B&H Photo and you'll see plenty options.

You need to budget for a tripod head. Look at the weight rating on tripods and on heads.

Aluminum will save you money over carbon fiber. Look for a good used tripod over new that doesn't have the quality. Standing is relative. You have to look at the height of each tripod. Depends on how tall you are.

Im not new to tripods. I was just hoping someone would have some specific models to recommend. The one I mentioned is around $180 which is fine but I would think there would be something built much heavier that would do the job and possibly cost less. I dont need it to be light because it will just be riding in the truck every day. I just didnt want to overlook anything that might be a better fit.

this is a used movie camera tripod found on e bay. it holds the 25 power orion binocs very steady. if the wind blows while you are standing you can grab it to hold on and not bother the glasses.
it is near 21 lbs. so it is big and bulky and the cost was 150$

the tripod in the front of the pic with the sand bag on it is similar to the one you are talking about. we use it for quick spots with 8 and 10 x binocs because it is not steady. it cost around a hundred and is rarely used.

I bought a tripod...heavy duty aluminum 3021 Bogen legs with a big Manfrotto 3265 pistol grip adjustable ball head for $75 used. It has worked great for me for a decade near the truck or quad with the Swaro 65mm spotter or Leica Geovid 15x56 binos. It weighs 8 pounds. At home it is set up 24-7 with the 15's on it facing the sheep mountain.

As a side note, the tripod adaptor I use with the Geovids is a homemade "plate"style constructed from deck rail hardwood (Ipe wood) that utilizes heavy duty 2" wide Velcro straps (from a removable walking cast) to hold the bino barrels down. Not light weight (8 ounces) but the wood bino plate is tough enough to drill and tap and hold up with the tripod stud anchored to it.

I have a 1990’s vintage Manfrotto video camera tripod with head that I would sell for a deal. PM me if you are interested and I’ll get you some details.

Have a set of Feisol 3342 legs. Weighs 2.5 lbs, goes up to standing and has a load capacity of 55lbs. Allows me to mount a 18lb PRS rifle and shoot it standing at range, even with the increased leverage. Highly recommended.

I went ahead and bought that older manfrotto. Its like 12 pounds but very stable. Perfect for what i wanted. Ive already glassed up sheep at 1.2 miles in a wind storm with the 15s. Plus the price was right for a tripod that will be in the truck every day for work.

Manfrotto won't lead you wrong. I have an old 3221 that I keep around even though I have a carbon fiber now. Handy to have two tripods sometimes.

Slik 700 Pro will do everything you ask and it's rock solid. $99 free shipping can't be beat IMO.
