Moultrie D40 trail cam external power voltage?

I have an old Moultri D 40 that I want to run a solar panel and external battery on. It runs on 6 D cell batteries and is a battery SUCKERRR! Anyone know what the exrternal power port voltage is?

I have an old D40 that no longer functions normally, and yes, they are battery eaters for sure! A 12 V external battery set up should run that camera just fine, however for the price of setting up external power for that cam one would probably come out ahead just buying a newer cheap IR trail camera like the Tasco at Walmart for $28.88.

I held onto my D40 for years and used it, but hated replacing the batteries since they are relatively expensive. I tried rechargeable D cells and those didn't work well at all. Eventually I just brought that anchor home and quit lugging it around the woods only to have it take a couple hundred pics before depleting the D cells.

Good luck if you decide to go with the external power option.

I finally found a plug that fits it with a radio shack part #(adapteplug "Q" ). Have to make or find a wire to fit these prongs.
