Has anyone had any issues with the TSA using a pop up frame pack as a carry on? Heading to Big Sky TAC and was hoping to use my pack as my carry on Just concerned about the internal “poles”.

I haven't taken that pack, but other packs of similar size with zero issue. You can't hardly see the poles in the pop up when they're all the way down. One thing that helps too with TSA I've noticed is keep your extra straps tidy. Use the Velcro keepers and take up all the slack so you don't have a bunch of extra webbing around, sticking out of the overhead bins and into the isle.

I use a Pop Up 28 as my carry on all the time. I've never had an issue. I also line mine with a silver grocery store freezer bag, stuff it full of frozen boneless antelope or muley meat and bring it home as my carry on.

Had the same question a couple months ago flying with my Pop-up 18. No issues with the pack itself. Only thing they stopped me for was to check my hinge release that "looked odd going through the scanner."
