So I recently picked up an MSR Reactor and am curious what everyone here uses in the field to light it that’s reliable. I’m not a fan of Bic lighters and cheap matches are not overly reliable as it pretty wet here in western Washington. Just curious. I might be overthinking this as it’s not hard to light it.

Ive been using the MSR strike ignitor for several years. I can get the stove to light the first time every time with it. Also never have to hassle with getting the flame to burn below the wire mesh rather than above it as is often the problem with a flame type lighter such as bic.

I light a small stick with a lighter and use the stick to light the reactor. I also normally have a ferro rod with me that I can use.
