I have a new MSR Reactor 1.5L pot and the interior finish looks to have a ton of superficial finish cracks. The outside has less visible vertical cracks. Hopefully the pics show it. Is this normal? I don’t have any other to compare to so I’d thought I’d ask the community. Just want to make sure it isn’t some coating that will come off.

That’s what mine looks like on the inside so you’re not alone. I‘ve used mine plenty so I think you’re in the clear.

That’s called crazing, and it’s normal with anodized aluminum that’s either been formed after anodizing (the anodized layer is much harder than the aluminum base material, so it cracks) or has been heated (the anodized layer cracks as the temperature climbs).
