I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this area. I'm feeling the need to head somewhere new next year and don't want to burn any serious points. New England deer hunting has me down. I'd have about a 50/50 chance at drawing as I have no preference in MT for deer.
From my own research, it seems like I'd probably see a lot of folks. I could expect a mule deer...probably 140 inches at the largest. Whitetails will be tough as they got EHD a couple years back. I just want to see some animals and would probably shoot a 3.5 year old at this point. The unit looks like it's mostly wheat ground with pastures mixed in. To be honest, a high plains deer hunt is appealing to me as I'm from the plains. I kind of just want to hunt somewhere different from here.
