MT Wolf Carcass Tagging Requirements???

I've scoured the internets and the read through the MTFWP wolf regs. If I want to retain the hide and skull of a wolf shot in Montana, what is the acceptable/ legal method of attaching the tag to the hide/ carcass???

I don't think you have to attach anything to the carcass. When you kill one fill out the tag, just zip tie it to the head/hide. When you take the wolf head/hide to a check station a conservation officer will put a plastic tag on the hide for you.
