Another post about a one-eyed moose got me thinking about this 2019 Montana mule deer buck I shot. I did not have any chance to see it walking around before the shot, so not sure if it was completely blind in the eye or not. Southeast Montana where trees are scarce and the chances of sticking itself in the eye with a branch seem remote. Anyone got an opinion on the injury and the two big divots in the cornea?

We had a buck hanging around our house a couple years ago that had his eye completely hanging out of the socket. Pretty sure he took a tine to the eye while fighting.

No idea
What is that white sliver toward the back between lower lid and eyeball?

That may be an important clue
