Got out for a little spring hiking today, about 40 minutes from our house. Mostly looking for an excuse to try out my new Hanwags from Lathrop and Sons! This Alaska Lady is so far pretty impressed with the the Lady Alaskans and the Synergy High Country footbeds. We did around five miles round trip and gained 2000' of elevation, and I didn't get a single hotspot! I Also felt like there might have been less stress and impact on my legs and joints, though a lot of our hiking today was over snowpack so the footing was pretty soft for a lot of the way. I am amazed at what a difference the full shanks made (my previous boots were only half shank)...we sidehilled up some pretty steep terrain, and despite the frozen ground my Alaskans held tight with no twisting at all.*Looking forward to getting out more in my new boots as we head into backpacking and hunting season!
