Topped with a VX5 3-15x 44 fire dot

Mostly hunting deer, elk, pronghorn out west

If you plan on loading heavy bullets for the .284 and are already planning to use a long action, why not use a faster cartridge such as the 28 nosler or 7 stw to push the heavy bullets? Since you are planning on using the 1:8 twist barrel, have you looked at the 195 berger or 180 eldm? I am assuming you want to shooting longer ranges and those bullets have a higher bc then the 175 eldx.
Looks like you are using top notch components for the build, can't wait to see how it turns out.

That case was built for the 168 Berger or 162 ELD, imo. You won't see any gains with 180 class bullets till your past 1000.
