Nebraska mule deer advice

Long time lurker first time poster here, I will be heading to western Nebraska for my second Mule deer hunt this fall. My hunt will be primarily public land but I do have access to private ranch as well. I am curious if all of you have any advice on what I should be looking for while E scouting using google earth and Basemap. Also what types of features should I be looking for once I get out there (I.E. water, scrub brush, and east facing hill sides)? I am not afraid to get out of my truck and venture back into the hills to find deer. Any advice will be helpful.
